DO BEST

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“In the dust of defeat as well as the laurels of victory there is a glory to be found if one has done his best.”― Eric Liddell

“Here’s what you need to keep in mind. You no longer have yesterday. You do not yet have tomorrow. You have only today. This is the day the Lord has made. Live in it.”― Max Lucado

Are you committed to “giving your best” to today?

What is that?
Are you not feeling it?
A little under the weather? Tired of trying?

Shake that off!

“Even when we are not AT our best we are to still GIVE our best.” - Delaney

Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work. – Colossians 3:24-25 (MSG)

Even when we “aren’t feeling it” we are still called to give our GODLY best to the situation. Even when it isn’t going our way we are to not to be shoddy in our efforts!

Easier said than done, I know.

The fact of the matter is we are to do our best with each day we are given.  And the surest way to get the best out of each day is to commit that day to serving, speaking and honoring Christ; to being mindful of WHO we are serving with all of our waking moments.

Plain and simple.
An old song said it well…
Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart;
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave;
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

I know some days it is hard to contemplate doing anything but just surviving. Following and serving Christ is “messy business” as I mentioned yesterday.

But as many in the fellowships of recovery will say, “progress not perfection”, so let’s just for today Concentrate on doing (our) BEST for God…2 Timothy 2:1

The good you do today will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.
― Mother Teresa

I love you ALL!
