EXPUNGED!

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
As I was looking over my log of OFH entries, I have gone more than a week without penning one.  And yes, things have been a little hectic.  If you hang out with me on FACEBOOK you know, but I wanted to get “back on track” today.  For when I don’t write, my days tend to not be quite as good as those when I do.
And today I just want to tell you an extraordinary story.  About a week ago or so my dear friend Joyce asked if I would write an advocacy letter to one of our Judges, Judge Herbert of Franklin County C.A.T.C.H. Court.  C.A.T.C.H stands for Changing Actions to Change Habits.
It has been around for 10+ years and is MOST WORTH a GOOGLE.  There are amazing stories of women who once were bound in a lifestyle of prostitution and crime who after given a second chance via this progressive court, turned their lives COMPLETELY around.  The stories of restoration are AMAZING
And my friend Joyce is one of those stories.  And ironically, she “didn’t complete” CATCH court like most of the gals, rather it was CATCH Court, Judge Herbert, and his team that RECOGNIZED the remarkable and sustained change in my friend.
Joyce was a prostitute and thief for 20+ years.  She was arrested and jailed multiple times.  She was beaten and nearly killed on more than one occasion.  And these are just a few of the highlights or lowlights.  Flashback 6 or so years ago and you would have found Joyce finally experiencing the help she so desperately needed and what GOD has done in that little window of time since is nothing short of extraordinary.
I mean extraordinary.  When I think of Joyce I think of this passage, I (THE LORD) will pay you back for those years of trouble. Joel 2:25 (ERV).  She is a living breathing personification of this PROMISE!
And yesterday GOD “paid Joyce back” some more.  As Joyce stood in the same courtroom that had many times accused and punished her, GOD gave Joyce a remarkable gift, the gift of EXPUNGEMENT. Because of Joyce’s transformation, because of Joyce’s OBEDIENCE, because of Joyce’s unfettered passion for CHRIST, to love Him and serve Him, Judge Herbert effectively expunged more that 150 charges that were on the books for Joyce.
That made me think of this passage, …Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! – Ephesians 3:20 (TPT).
I most like the Passion’s take on this from Paul.  Especially this, “He will achieve MORE than your MOST UNBELIEVABLE dream”.
GOD showed up, showed out, and showed off for my friend Joyce yesterday.  He lifted the weight of 20+ years of sin, hurt, mistakes and missteps with a single stroke of a pen.  It was as my friend Joyce likes to say, AMAZING.
But this sort of AMAZING isn’t reserved for just the Joyce’s.  No, it is FOR ANY and ALL of us!  GOD is in the RESTORATION business, He is in the making DREAMS a reality business!...after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. – 1 Peter 5:10 (ESV)
Friends I shared a most abridged version of Joyce’s journey today to simply ENCOURAGE you to keep believing and keep dreaming.  Sometimes it is the darkest before the dawn like the old cliché says.  But one thing is for sure, GOD never leaves us or slows his pursuit of us.  Instead He is faithful to us always ready to restore us, wow us, and bless us! (Matthew 7:11).
Trust Him!!!  He will!
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”– Eleanor Roosevelt

I love you all!
Have a BLESSED WEEKEND!

BAD EGGS

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“No clever arrangement of bad eggs will every give you a good omelet and no clever arrangement of selfish hearts is ever going to give us an unselfish world.”
CS Lewis is credited with the first portion of that quote, the second half I couldn’t find a reference, but let it sink in a little this morning.
Paul put it this way.
Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. – Philippians 2:2-4 (MSG)

Our world is a little “scrambled” don’t you think?
These days far too many folks are obsessed with pushing themselves out front.  Substituting cleverness for kindness, callousness for compassion, and rotten for righteous.
You have “heard” me say on several occasions in this forum, in this OFH, that selfishness is often at the ROOT of bad behavior. It was mine.
And when I think of selfishness, I am often reminded of a little cartoon that played on Saturdays when I was a kid. The Warner Brother's cartoon when Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny happen upon a buried treasure and instead of sharing, Daffy decides to erase Bugs from the equation. Daffy Duck - Mine, mine, mine!

“Mine, mine, mine”, Daffy says.
Pretty rotten huh?

Friends this is a simple reminder today.
GOD didn’t call us to be rotten.
GOD didn’t call us to be selfish.
We’ll never accomplish His will for us if we are.
Rather GOD called us to service; called us to be like His Son.
Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served…Mark 10:44 (MSG)
Put someone else ahead today.
Take a back seat.
Defer.  Seek ways to be agreeable and caring.
A Christian reveals true humility by showing the gentleness of Christ, by being always ready to help others, by speaking kind words and performing unselfish acts, which elevate and ennoble the most sacred message that has come to our world. Ellen G. White

ORCHARD OFFERING

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

We know what we are but know not what we may be.
William Shakespeare

I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil… John 15:16 (MSG)

What will you BE today?
Can I make a suggestion?

Be a FRUIT BEARER!

…what happens when we live God’s way? HE BRINGS GIFTS into our lives, much the same way that FRUIT APPEARS in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Galatians 5:22-23 (MSG)

Show affection for someone!

Go about life with exuberance and enthusiasm!
Emerson said…Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and without it nothing great was ever achieved.

Want to be a GREAT FRUIT BEARER?

It takes ENTHUSIASM, GOD GIVEN ENTHUSIASM!

No drabby personalities or sad-sack demeanor will do!

Seek serenity.
Affect the things you can change and accept the things you can’t and don’t spin your wheels doing the opposite!

Persevere!

Allow your GOD GIVEN LOVE to see the BEST in people!
Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, doesn’t have a swelled head, doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, doesn’t revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, puts up with anything, Trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end. 1 Corinthians 13:5-7 (MSG)

Be committed.

Be second.

Be focused.

Be disciplined.
If you care for your orchard, you’ll enjoy its fruit – Psalm 27:18

GOD has big plans for you and your orchard today!
It is GOOD FRUIT season!
Embrace your possibilities and bear a little of GOD’s fruit, won’t you?

Have a blessed day today!
I love you all
