HAS YOUR BACK

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Fascinating couple of days.

Meetings with some remarkable and gifted folks.

Two of which really jump to mind this morning.

As I mentioned yesterday, Jesus’ “has our back”.  He does.

As one person, recently quipped:

“You don’t have to look over your shoulder when you know God has your back.”

as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. – Joshua 1:5 (ESV)

What brought this up was a couple of recent conversations.

One was with a lifelong servant who was recently called to preach his father’s funeral.  That is a tough one, right?  And he was deeply struggling with what to say.  His said his grief was a little blinding and deafening.

Yet in a moment of quiet and tearful reflection he remembered He didn’t have to do the heavy lifting that GOD had Him, had the service, had the words, and had the strength that he lacked.  And almost as if on cue the words for his dad’s service flooded into his heart and mind and a loving tribute was shared.

GOD HAD HIS BACK!

Then yesterday while meeting with one of my favorite folks ever, Danius, she introduced me to her friend Marissa.  And quickly I surmised this was a special young lady; insightful, intelligent, and discerning.  Danius had asked Marissa to join us to share her “recent download” and inspiration from the LORD regarding the opiate challenge and her vision for an integrated campus of care.  It is a powerful idea, one that is being shared by GOD with others dotting the state of Ohio and beyond.  And GOD was inspiring her gifts, talents, experience, and education to the cause.

But what made our chat even more compelling and special was that she had recently dealt with some real adversity in her life; major back surgery and when she commented that GOD LITERALLY had her back I had to laugh.  Indeed, GOD had also faithfully brought her through some serious adversities and training in recent months, but GOD had her “back back” too. 

She was pain free!

She even took the time to tell me that during her surgery it was protocol to awaken her for a moment while still on the operating table to see if her lifelong pain was gone. And when she could say yes, she made all in the operating theater STOP, PRAISE WORSHIP and PRAY to the GOD who had her back!

Remarkable story! 

But that brings me to the obvious tie in.

GOD has YOUR BACK today. 

Be it your need for “what to say” in a challenging situation or to support you through the adversity of the day. To give you wisdom for challenging relationships. Or whether it is to help you to heal or help you deal, don’t pause to look over your shoulder, GOD is already there rooting you on, lifting you up, picking up the pieces, and even cleaning up any fallout.  I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you – Isaiah 41:10
