Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Romans 8:26-27 (LB)
…by our faith—the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course…
The first thing I want you to do is pray…
Even if you don’t know what to pray, this inspired Word from Paul says by FAITH our SPIRIT’s will pray for us.
Can’t articulate how you feel?
Pause and pray. You don’t have to say anything. In faith, GOD knows your heart and can interpret the sighs, the groans, the cries or the praise.
Good thing.
Late Sunday night I was pretty close to “out” when a text from my eldest came to Beth. As Beth read it she just kept saying “Oh no, oh my, and dear Jesus...”
There were some gasps and sighs mixed in as well.
The message on the text was about one of my daughter’s colleagues and classmates who in a moment of complete despair took his life by leaping from the CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER garage in Columbus.
He was in his 20's and beset with depression. He sadly saw this as the only way out; the only way to relief.
There are no words for that.
Thank the LORD we don’t need them…
The AMPLIFIED embellishes that point and promise from Romans 8 a little further…
…the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
The Holy Spirit BEARS us UP when we can’t stand. When we are facing something unexplained, insurmountable, unfathomable or undeniably overwhelming, the SPIRIT will BEAR us up.
Trust Him!
For God knew we’d need help and DO NEED help in prayer.
Daily!
With our limited human perspective, we cannot know all aspects of the situations facing us. But the Holy Spirit understands our needs and burdens—as well as the big picture. He carries our requests to God even when we can’t adequately express them.
Good thing... right?
I called my little girl as I was driving back from Columbus yesterday in that feeble attempt to console her. It has been a brutal 6 weeks. She has lost her “aunt” Dawn, her dog, her friend and a young patient she was attending to in the bone marrow unit at the James.
That is a lot for her. That is a lot for those families.
That is a lot for anyone.
Thankfully, she doesn’t have to know what to pray for her SPIRIT does and is already on the case. She can trust Him to communicate to her Heavenly Father just what she needs.
It’s okay.
Let the Holy Spirit have it. He is pleased to help.

He will help!
I love you all
