Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“Few people arise in the morning as hungry for God as they are for cornflakes or toast and eggs.” - Willard
Are you hungry for GOD this morning?
Or has something else got your priority, attention or appetite?
Yes…even breakfast needs to take a back seat.
For Jesus was pretty clear on what we should crave…
John 6:27 (MSG)
“Don’t waste your energy striving for perishable food… Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last.”
I love that last line.
HE (Jesus) and what HE (Jesus) does are GUARANTEED by GOD the Father to last.
Most of us would prefer, however, to spend our time doing something that will get immediate results. - Chambers
Like “filling up” first.
Now I am not saying that breakfast isn’t important. My nutritionists and junior high health teachers out there would say it is the MOST important meal.
What I am saying is that Jesus wants us to keep things in perspective and to HUNGER and THIRST for Him with more zeal than that Denny’s Grand Slam.
Matthew 5:6 (AMP)
“Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.
For when we hunger and thirst FOR HIM we will be completely satisfied.
For when we replace the perishable with the purposeful it will have imperishable impact. And we will experience a real “belly-full” of blessing; an "overflowing one" when we do.
John 7:38 (KJV)
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
“If you don't feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.” ― John Piper
Hunger for our GREAT GOD today!
I love you ALL!
