HOPE'S STABILITY

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Paul Tripp once said, “I know that resting in the promises of His (GOD’S) grace will never leave me empty and embarrassed. I may not understand what is happening and I may not know what is coming around the corner, but I know that God does and that he controls it all. So even when I am confused, I can have hope, because my hope does not rest on my understanding, but on God’s goodness..."

Solomon said simply, Your future is bright and filled with a living hope that will never fade away. Proverbs 23:18 (TPT)

We can take Solomon at his word.  We do have a hope that will never fade, a hope that is rooted in the goodness and grace of GOD.  And that is important to remember when the days become overwhelming or for those times when hope has faded.

And Tripp is right too.

Sometimes life does its best to confuse things.

Financial pressures.

Health challenges.

Deteriorating infrastructure.

The unexpected.

A plate that is too full.

These all have a way of siphoning hope and replacing it with despondence, despair, disappointment, confusion and frustration.

And it is in those times when often we struggle to fight back the tears that we must remember our HOPE will never be cut off.

You have heard me quote Rick Warren who said that you can go 8 days without water, 40 days without food but you can’t go a single day without hope.

Most notably hope in our Lord.

RC Sproul said it this way, “Hope is called the anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6:19), because it gives stability to the Christian life. But hope is not simply a ‘wish’ (I wish that such-and-such would take place); rather, it is that which latches on to the certainty of the promises of the future that God has made.”

So yes, the burdens and uncertainties of life will always be there. There will be ups and downs; moments of instability.  Times when others will disappoint us, or we will disappoint ourselves. We will have our share of trouble.

But JESUS in whom our HOPE lies, reminds us that HE HAS OVERCOME ANY and ALL the TROUBLE and that our HOPE can rest securely in that promise. (John 16:33)

"Jesus gives us hope because He keeps us company, has a vision and knows the way we should go." -Max Lucado

So, don’t forget to keep company with hope today HE is ready to keep company with you.

I love you all.
