ALLOW GOD

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

What a moving time yesterday morning turned out to be. 

Yesterday was ‘CELEBRATION’ Day for the REFUGE.  It is the day when we honor our men who have “completed” an important part in their journey to becoming ALL that GOD has called them to be by finishing at least 13 months serving in and with the ministry.

And while there are medals and certificates, the day is truly about GOD’S amazing mercy and His intense pursuit of each of us.  GOD had never ceased his love for our honorary eleven.  And the minute they paused to “let Him back into” their thinking and their lives, GOD began to do what GOD does, restore.

The truth is as Osteen once remarked,

“God is a good God, and He gives good things to his children. No matter who has denigrated you or how much pain you’ve experienced in life, no matter how many setbacks you have suffered, you cannot allow yourself to accept that as the way life is supposed to be. No, God has better things in store for you. You must reprogram your mind with God’s word; change that negative, defeated self-image, and start seeing yourself as winning, coming out on top.

YOU must see it through your eyes of faith, and then it will begin to happen.”

And for these men GOD had done just that.

Through His Word and some real “friendly” reprogramming…

(Proverbs 27:17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another)…these 11 are now on the cusp of what GOD has next and we know that has AMAZING things in store if they stay their course and remain walking with GOD.

But those promises are not exclusive to 11 men who spent time in a ministry, it holds true for each of us today.

GOD has always been and always will be a GOOD GOD.

GOD loves to bring restoration and GOOD things to the CHILDREN He loves and that is YOU.

The question is WILL you allow GOD to have you?  Will you SEEK HIM with eyes of faith?

These men simply LET GOD have them.

And from the looks on their family’s faces and from the beams emanating from their “spiritual dad’s” Tom, Don, Doug and Mike’s faces GOD was indeed stirring hearts and encouraging a few feet to start dancing.

And while I was only around for the final furlong for many of these men, I was truly and deeply touched to just relish in the presence of GOD and His amazing GOODNESS personified in these 11 new creations in Christ.

Chan says it this way…

“...you will have a choice: to adjust how you live daily or to stay the same.” ― Francis Chan

These men adjusted to allow GOD to have His place in their lives and hearts and GOD transformed them all.  

The question is will we allow GOD to do the same with us today?
