ACKNOWLEDGE HIM

Have you thanked Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

 

Well it is our last full day for CHRISTMAS DISNEY 2017.  It has been a wonderful time.  19 of us at one time were here. Family and a couple of “ready to be's” made the journey.  And as I was perusing some of the 15 or so OFH entries from our times spent down here, I came across this one from 2013 and while the “set up may be a little dated”, I believe the message is a GOOD one as we draw closer to HIS day on Monday.

One of the “must do’s” at DISNEY is “meeting and greeting” those characters Walt conjured up in his head that went on to be beloved and famous. You know who I am talking about. Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Chip, and Dale; the list goes on and on. So yesterday, with autograph books and pens firmly in hand, Ian and McKenzie went on their quest at the EPCOT PHOTO spot to grab an autograph and a photo with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

 

Well not to be outdone, the adults had to get in the game and get our pictures taken too and while eagerly waiting our turn to meet Minnie, we had a little exchange with Gabrielle the photographer.

You see Beth and I will be “officially” celebrating 25 years of marriage a little later this fall, so the DISNEY folks gave us little buttons to wear commemorating BETH’S incredible resilience and patience.

 

So as while in line, Gabrielle noted the little button and wished us a Happy Anniversary and then asked Beth how long we had been married. When Beth said 25 years Gabrielle then asked, “What is your secret?” And Beth, like only Beth can do, without hesitation said, “Keep Jesus at the center of it honey. That is the secret.”

 

Not hard to love that woman.

 

No need for contemplation. No real time for a joke (like I was getting ready to make). She just witnessed. “It’s all about Jesus honey that is the key.”

 

Proverbs 3:6

In ALL YOUR WAYS acknowledge him…

 

What was funny is Gabrielle was a little taken “a back” I think she might have been ready for a “joke” but she got a jolt.

 

So, did I.

 

But Beth is right.

I know it is a simple answer.

But it is the right answer.

 

We should “in all ways acknowledge” the influence and the presence of GOD in our lives. Even when waiting in line to take a picture with a mouse in a polka dotted dress.

 

GOD has blessed each of us incredibly. If you are reading this, He has injected life into your lungs and heart.

Acknowledge Him!

If GOD has opened a door to opportunity, acknowledge Him!

If GOD has blessed your marriage with resilience and forgiveness, acknowledge Him.

 

GOD asks each of us to make Him the center of all things, to be ready to acknowledge Him to others at the drop of a hat or right before you meet a famous mouse.

 

1 Peter 3:15 (MSG)

But keep the Lord Christ holy in your hearts. Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have.
