Have you
thanked Him?
Have you
praised Him?
Have you
made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you
taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The
first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone
you know.
Yesterday,
our Pastor’s son and worship leader filled the pulpit for his papa while Pastor
is enjoying a little R & R.
And
John-Marc hit on some familiar themes.
At least
for me and our work in recovery.
He
referenced one of my favorite passages. Philippians 2:4
In fact, I
shared it while preaching at Ginghamsburg Church on Saturday.
He used the
NKJV, I used the Passion.
Abandon
every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to
others instead of your own interests.
John
pressed the congregation to be contributors rather than consumers.
To be
servants instead of being “served”.
To be
selfless and kingdom minded rather than selfish and earthly in perspective.
In the
recovery world that falls into the 12th step.
But another
point that John made that I particularly liked was that he also encouraged us
to “MAKE OUR MOVE”; in other words, to not allow the VICTIM mentality to
invade, but rather take control of our WALK and our INFLUENCE.
I liked
that; being INTENTIONAL with our faith, intentional with our service!
Clearly that
is something JESUS taught and did. Jesus
IMPACTED the WORLD around Him rather than ever allowing the culture to
influence His work. He was always
“making moves”
It was
something PAUL encouraged as well!
Don't
become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even
thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside
out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. –
Romans 12:2 (MSG)
Recognize!
Respond! Make a move! Be an INFLUENCER!
So, our
charge for today is clear.
Let’s make
our move.
Seek ways
to serve.
Seek ways
to influence your sphere for the cause of CHRIST.
Be
impacting rather than impacted.
And remember…
"Leadership is not about titles, positions or
flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another." Maxwell.
Have a
blessed day!
I love you
all.
