Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Are you on the lookout?
It is right over there! Can’t you see it? Come on don’t be fooled it is waiting in the shadows. I am serious. This is no laughing matter.
It will mess things up I promise!
What do you mean you don’t know what “it” is. It shows up every year. Come on don’t tell me you haven’t had it hamper your holiday’s before.
Admit it…it has gotten you too. Am I the only one? Impossible! Admit it!
What are you saying, you still don’t know? Come here and I will whisper it in your ear...
It is the CHRISTMAS COMPLICATOR! DUH DUH DUH!
YES that dirty rotten CHRISTMAS COMPLICATOR doing more damaging than any terminator or cyborg could ever imagine. Wreaking havoc like nothing else!
Hide the kids!
It compresses your time. It shrinks your budget. It dredges up old painful memories. It intensifies traffic. It squeezes and presses and creates frustration and messes! It can turn what should be this most simple of seasons into a complex mess like a tangled web of Christmas lights from storage before you can say "aunt Matilda's fruitcake"!
So I want to warn you about it today, reminding you it is out there lurking.
And I also wanted to offer a little “simple” remedy.
Head the COMPLICATOR off at the pass and simplify the season.
GOD loves SIMPLE!
Proverbs 15:16
16 A simple life in the Fear-of-God is better than a rich life with a ton of headaches.
The most powerful life is the most simple life. The most powerful life is the life that knows where it’s going, knows where the source of strength is; it is the life that stays free of clutter and happenstance and hurriedness.
Max Lucado
Don’t let the CHRISTMAS COMPLICATOR steal the joy and purpose of the season. Simple is better.
Exercise a little control and...
1 Corinthians 7:29-30
…don’t complicate your lives unnecessarily. Keep it simple—…Even in ordinary things—your daily routines of shopping, and so on. Deal as sparingly as possible with the things the world thrusts on you...
...and leave the CHRISTMAS COMPLICATOR out in the cold!
I love you all.
