REVEALED TO THE REGULAR

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

GOD came for us!

Boy oh boy do I love that Pastor Anna Brooks!

She resurrected that old familiar story of the shepherds in the fields and breathed new perspective and new life into the sometimes threadbare text.

GOD came for us.

The messed up. The lowly. The confused. The fearful. The outcast. The "REGULAR".

GOD sent Jesus TO US for US.

We were so important to GOD that we like the shepherds, just the regular, were the first to get the news of Jesus’ arrival on the planet. An event thought to be reserved for royalty was “revealed to the regular”.

Why? Because WE, the “regular” are very important to GOD.

1 Thessalonians 1:4

We know, dear brothers and sisters,[a] that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people.

Pretty amazing when you think of it huh?

But it is GOD’s way. GOD has been with us and for us and about us since the beginning.

From the walks in the cool of the evening with Adam to the indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT for us today, GOD has been about being “FOR” folks like us; His creation; His kids; the messy; the regular.

So embrace that shepherd message today. That amazing truth! That wonderful “revelation to the regular”

Luke 2:10

…The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid. I have some very good news for you—news that will make everyone happy. 11 Today your Savior was born in David’s town. He is the Messiah, the Lord.

GOOD NEWS!

FOR WHO?

YOU!

News that will make WHO HAPPY?

Everyone! That is you!

That is you recovering addict. That is you divorced mom! That is you struggling parent! That is you the confused and frazzled!

Today your SAVIOR was born!

SAVIOR, the one WEBSTER says, saves from danger or destruction one who brings salvation!

That SAVIOR is for you! That SAVIOR is FOR US!

Thanks to that announcement, thanks to the wonderful amazing life of Jesus, thanks to His sacrifice on the cross and His amazing resurrection, that SAVIOR is WITH YOU; WITH US, Mr. and Mrs. Regular.

Matthew 1:21-23

21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[a] because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[b] (which means “God with us”).

And there is NOTHING “regular” about that!
