NO HURDLE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“When you are facing a mountain you can debate who put it there: God or the enemy. Does it matter? You still need to go over it.” - Bob Mortimer (paraphrase)

Had the chance to sit through CEDARVILLE CHAPEL yesterday prior to Beth and me tandem teaching and testifying for some Junior Nursing students.  We did our newly minted “Spongebob and the Professor” talk.  I will share a little about that on another day.

But my friend Dr. Gre Dyson introduced Bob Mortimer as the speaker of the day.  Do yourself a favor and follow the link to his story and his site.  It will inspire you. (http://www.hcjourney.org)

Bob is wheel-chair bound. One arm. No legs.  He lost them after a night of drinking via electrocution. Yes. Electrocution.  Like I said, follow the link.
And while Beth and I had to leave a little early from the session to prep for our talk, a couple of serious lessons were shared in the time we did have with Bob.  I wanted to pass them on. They are relevant for us this morning; really every morning.

“We may schedule life, we may plan life, we may view that we are in charge of life, but GOD has the final say.” So TRUE!
Proverbs 16:1
Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.

Bob then shared a portion of his story about his journey via bicycle; (yes he has one arm and no legs), from WASHINGTON to NEW YORK.  He expanded on the challenge that was the Snoqualmie Pass.  That pass was the most challenging of mountainous terrain they were to face on the journey and it came EARLY in the journey.  Bob had planned for it, Bob had scheduled for it, Bob thought he was in charge of how they would cross it.  GOD had a different plan.  They eventually crossed it, but there was unexpected learning in the journey. That too IS TRUE!  GOD never stops teaching!

Another part the lesson of  that same lesson was that sometimes the GREATEST hurdle to our dreams and achievements, even those blessed and in the name of the LORD come EARLY.
I concur.

Some of the most challenging days for my friends in recovery occur early in the process.  But regardless of the source, those trials, those “Snoqualmie Passes” build our perseverance; bring glory to GOD when we stride over them!
Romans 5:3-4 (NLT)
…when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope…

So be reminded today.
No plan is TOO CONCRETE. No MOUNTAIN bigger than GOD's SOVEREIGNTY.  No trial too challenging. No obstacle too great. No pass "un-passable" or hurdle "unhurdleable" for you WHO is in CHRIST!  That is the LESSON!
Amen?
John 16:33 (NLT)
…Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.
1 John 4:4 (KJV)
Ye are of God… greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I love you all!
Have a great WEEKEND!
