TEAM

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“There is no “I” in TEAM”…

Yesterday was SUPER BOWL Sunday.  Lots of discussions about deflated footballs, "Legions of Boom", what #25 from the Seahawks will say next or what #24 won’t say at all.  At times the hype and the hyperbole threatened to drown out one of the biggest “team” events year over year.

And while I am personally pleased at the outcome, the “big game” is synonymous with America like hotdogs and apple pies.  100+ million folks watch it. And I did too with a little band of CLOSE FRIENDS whom I have watched it for decades; my “TEAM”.

That is why I opened today’s little thought with those “team” quotes we have all heard before, I wanted to encourage each of us to be thankful for our “teammates”.

I am.

Got a co-worker who you can always count on to lend an ear when life goes sideways? Be grateful for that person today.  Maybe spring for a cup of coffee?

Or are you fortunate enough to be a part of a group of folks who encourage one another or that you can lob a call into when a couch needs moved or a room needs painted?  Pause and thank GOD for them.

Truth is while many of us think we are pretty self-sufficient, the reality is we all need a little help from time to time.  Be honest we all need and were built for relationships.
Remember Jesus surrounded Himself with friends and when the chips were down and life was its hardest, even HE needed help carrying HIS cross.
Matthew 27:32 (NLT)
Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross.
We sometimes need a teammate!

The Bible is loaded with great teams who accomplished MUCH!
Those noise makers around Jericho sure made a difference!
Those 300 soldiers GIDEON went to war with didn’t fare to shabbily either.
The bottom line is this.
Together we CAN accomplish more. Together we can do and deal with SO MUCH MORE!
Ecclesiastes 4:12 (MSG)
By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.

So here is your task.
Pause and thank GOD for your TEAM!
I did on the way home from our little SUPER BOWL soiree’. Can you do the same?

I love you all!
