Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Cathisophobia- Fear of sitting.
Consecotaleophobia- Fear of chopsticks.
Nephophobia- Fear of clouds.
Peladophobia- Fear of bald people.
You suffer from any of those fears? Hope not!
How about Pteronophobia? It is the fear of being tickled by feathers. Now I am not poking fun at these phobias. For the folks who are suffering from these unusual fears I am confident that the fear is VERY REAL.
And while many of us don’t have a “categorical” phobia like these per say, many of us do struggle with fear and anxiety almost daily.
“What will the doctor say?”
“I heard they are making some changes at work, I wonder what will happen to me?”
For some, the thought of that “next shoe falling” or “what is around that next corner” is enough to cause some real hand-wringing and anxiousness that is for sure.
Yet GOD calls us to a walk of faith not fear!
In fact, He specifically equipped us for it.
For God, did not give us a spirit of fear. He gave us a spirit of power and of love and of a good mind. – (2 Timothy 1:7 - NIV)
The reality is that this world is chocked full of things that can make even the most solid of Christian a little shaky. From the economy to the flu, we all have our fearful challenges and hurdles.
That is why it is so important to allow faith, not "phobia" or fear to rule our hearts and minds each day!
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. - Hebrews 11:1-2 (MSG)
You see that?
FAITH, NOT FEAR OR PHOBIA, is OUR (the CHRISTIAN’S) HANDLE on the anxious situations and challenges we face.
Trust in GOD sees us through!
Now it’s a new week and maybe on the other side of the front door are a big bunch or gnarly “unknowns”, several “what if’s”, maybe you are like me and something unexpected creeped into the email inbox already first thing or perhaps even a few “I hope not’s” are lying in wait for you.
Likely there ARE some tests and trials looming on the horizon.
Take heart! Trust GOD! Don’t fear!
Let’s both have faith, NO phobia!!
Colossians 2:6 (ERV)
As you have put your trust in Christ Jesus the Lord to save you …now let Him lead you in every step.
Have a great start to the week!
I love you all.
