MY YESTERDAYS

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

God took away my yesterdays and left me free from sin.

And in that home of glory He'll never mention them.

…if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, He will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and He will CONTINUE to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (TPT)

Friends, GOD is faithful to CAST and faithful to CONTINUE to cast our sins beyond retrieval and CONTINUE to do so WHEN we walk with Him.

In my line of work, the YESTERDAYS are persistent. 

The enemy uses them intensely and often.

Those yesterday’s when we were selfish.

Those yesterday’s when we were “out there”.

Those yesterday’s that were chocked full of BAD decisions.

Those yesterday’s when we were nowhere “near GOD”.

The enemy uses every tool in the shed to remind us our shortcomings, of WHAT WE WERE.  He uses old colleagues, old friends, old haunts, and old sins to drag us down, to hurt us and our walk with CHRIST.

But if we REMEMBER that WHEN WE MET JESUS all that OLD was eliminated; drowned if you will. 2 Corinthians 5:17. And if we are FAITHFUL to be quick to admit when our TODAY’s get out of frame, GOD via CHRIST will keep CASTING those sins into the SEA and He will separate us from them as far as the EAST is from the WEST!!!

Why these passages?

Because I encounter so many folks whose YESTERDAY’S YOKE them relentlessly; whose YESTERDAY’S rob the joy of their today.  And instead GOD wants us to GRAB HOLD of the TRUTH about those yesterdays!  That since…

we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace - Ephesians 1:7 (TPT)

So, today’s little encouragement is hopefully an obvious one.

Don’t let yesterday spoil the possibilities of today.

Don’t let the enemy war against you with your past.  Like the old song says, “remind him of his future” and YOURS TOO!
