A LITTLE HARMONY

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Harmony.
Doesn’t seem to be much of that these days does there?

Even though many artists have penned and crafted songs about harmony. McCartney and Wonder for starters. Quincy Jones even pulled together a diverse team to breathe life into “We are the World” an anthem designed to bring folks together.  Sorry millennials for my “dated” references, the gray is starting to emerge around the temples sadly.

But nothing is more pleasing to the ear and quite frankly the SOUL like a little good HARMONY.

If fact I grew up traveling, singing, and listening to a whole lot of good 4-part gospel harmony over the years. There is nothing like a good quartet to make a little harmony; especially with a patented big bass note at the end of song.
(Oldie but a goody - ðŸ˜Š) Great message too!

In fact, Webster calls HARMONY, a PLEASING combination or arrangement of different things. Its synonyms are words like balance, coherence, concinnity, consonance, symmetry, symphony, and unity.

Clearly things we all should pursue in life.
At least that is what GOD says.
Since you have been chosen by God who has given you this new kind of life, and because of his deep love and concern for you, you should practice tenderhearted mercy and kindness to others…let love guide your life, for then the whole church (that is us) will stay together in perfect HARMONY. – Colossians 3:12,14 (ESV)

So, let’s agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other. Help others with encouraging words… Romans 14:19 (MSG)

GOD motivates us to harmonious living.
He knows the power of our collectiveness.
He also knows the dangers of divisions and knows the enemy wants nothing more than to isolate us and separate us thus making us and the work more vulnerable.

That is why Paul was inspired to MOTIVATE us with this charge.
If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Philippians 2:2 (MSG)

In other words, seek and live in harmony.

So. let’s try a little harmony today
The benefits are extraordinary.

Be cheerful. Keep things in good repair. Keep your spirits up. Think in harmony. Be agreeable. Do all that, and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure. 1 Corinthians 13:11 (MSG)

Have a blessed weekend…
I love you ALL!
