WORD ON IT

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

I have the potential to step into several new opportunities in the coming months.  I must admit, I am a little apprehensive. I have what appear to be some doors opening to “next steps”, “next evolutions”, and I will be honest, I am not certain which door to choose.  It is a little like “Let’s Make a Deal” these days.

And while I know I should be super excited about the prospects, my sometimes-frail confidence allows doubt to seep in.  That is why I am resolving to do as a good friend taught me years ago, to “PUT A LITTLE WORD” on it.

Starting here.
...the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you…
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (ESV)

Pastor Templeton, the CHAPLAIN at the MONTGOMERY COUNTY CORRECTIONS FACILITY coined that little phrase for me nearly 4 years ago now.  He says when you are up against more than you know or are treading into areas where you are uncomfortable or confounded, he advises, “Put a little WORD on it” or to it.

I love that!

Don’t know how to answer that question?
“Put a little WORD on it” and see if the answer doesn’t surface!

Trying to diffuse a tough conflict and traditional methods are failing?
“Put a little WORD on it.”

Confused as to what to do next?
“Put a little WORD on it!”

And why not, for we know…
Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and USEFUL one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. - 2 Timothy 3:16 (MSG)

The point Pastor T. makes is that all of us encounter situations and circumstances where we don’t or won't have all the right answers or know exactly WHICH door to open.

And it is in these times that…
GOD'S WORD IS MOST CERTAINLY USEFUL!
GOD’S WORD CAN HELP “correct (or avoid) the mistakes”.
GOD’S WORD WILL “remind and point us to truth”

So, if you a little like me right now with far more questions than answers or standing like I like to say at the back of a WALMART loading area and EVERY door is open and seemingly inviting you in, let’s use that GOD-BREATHED WORD to deal with it.

By first admitting that…
You’re (I’m) up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get…God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. Ephesians 6:13, 15 (MSG)

And remembering…
With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way. – Proverbs 3:6 (ERV)

Have a blessed day…
I love you all.
