ROCKS AND HARD PLACES

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

I was having a conversation with a friend recently and we were talking about how ministry and working in this “relationship space” sometimes puts us between “rocks and hard places”; it sometimes puts us in places when a clear “right choice” isn’t easy to find or an way out seems elusive.

And while it is a little dated reference, but he has been on TV a lot recently for Blade Runner, that old cliché’ brings to mind that scene from Harrison Ford’s movie “The Fugitive”.

If you remember, Harrison’s character is falsely accused and running from the US Marshals and Tommy Lee Jones has him trapped against the top of the spill-way water-fall. His choices are to jump over the edge or be taken back to prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

That is being caught between a rock and hard place for sure.

Honestly, we all have times where life plops us smack-dab in the middle of rocks and hard places, you know, those tough times where there seems to be “no way out” or our choices are limited at best.

But when faced with those types of days and those types of situations, we must remember that GOD knows the beginning from the end and like the old song says:
“God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength
For each new day
He will make a way” - Moen

Take assurance in that.

And if you are having one of those days or are dealing with a circumstance where a rock is pressing on one side and your heels are dangling off the edge of the cliff on the other, lean on this amazing and relevant truth!

…When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you.

When you're in rough waters, you will not go down.

When you're between a rock and a hard place,

it won't be a dead end—

Because I am God, your PERSONAL God – from Isaiah 43 (MSG)

We must have the faith that things will work out somehow, that God will make a way for us when there seems no way. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

I love you all.
Have a blessed DAY.
