SOME GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Live prayerfully.

Practice compassion.

Give and forgive.

Encourage growth.

Show respect.

And do all these things with an attitude of acceptance and love.

Good huh?

Some things we can do, today right? 

They don’t require any special training at all really.

And when applied they can make a difference for sure!

In my job I have the distinct honor of working with some of the finest people anywhere.  And that is most certainly true of my friends on the advisory board for the budding RECOVERY CAFÉ’ at the LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER in Dayton, Ohio.

This place of safety, acceptance and community is set to begin operations in January 2018.  I will tell you January 2018 will be an exciting time.  Many new and amazing opportunities for connection and blessing are set to launch around that time!  And the RC at the LEC will be a part of this dramatic time in the recovery community!

Pray for this team. 

They are a dedicated, diverse, and compassionate crew.  Tons of experience and knowledge.  This Café is in very good hands!

And as this work is being modeled after the flagship located in Seattle Washington (https://recoverycafe.org), the incorporation of these guiding principles will create the heart that will beat in this safe place for folks to begin and advance their recovery journey and relationships!

Yet my goal of today's OFH was to share those principles with you and hopefully encourage you to apply them too.

Can we try?

Perhaps open today with prayer.  Seek guidance for what is in front of you, forgiveness for what might have gone awry yesterday and express some gratitude that you are blessed and able to take on this day!

Embrace an attitude of compassion and when needed exercise it! Ephesians 4:32

Give and forgive.  Encourage others! (let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works – Hebrews 10:24 ESV)

Offer respect!

Live in true devotion to one another, loving each other as sisters and brothers. Be first to honor others by putting them first. - Romans 12:10(V)

Be accepting and loving. Knowing…

Simple principles, yes.

But I believe if employed can make a huge difference in us and most certainly to those around us!
