AUTHENTIC DAY

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Did you know you were called to:
…be fair, just, merciful, and to walk humbly with your God…? - Micah 6:8 (LB)
 True.

The question is are you ready for that assignment today?
To…
…walk in the way of righteousness…in the paths of justice (and fairness)?  - Proverbs 8:20 (ESV)

Are you?
…so benevolent, so merciful that you would hold an umbrella over a duck in a shower of rain? – (adapted from Douglas William Jerrold)
Now that is "over the top" mercy...!

And are you ready to walk humbly?
That requires us to commit to allowing GOD to be in charge today.
For it is hard keep things in perspective if we don’t remember who is Lord!

So let’s pray today:
Lord, our God, be kind to us. Make everything we do successful.  Yes, make it all successful.
Psalm 90:17 (ERV)

Let’s:
…ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to the ways in which pride gets in the way of our relationships and ask Him to repair it.

Let’s:
…be willing to pay more attention to our own faults than to the flaws of others.
For
Jesus (said):
Why is it that you see the dust in your brother’s or sister’s eye, but you can’t see what is in your own eye?  Don’t ignore the wooden plank in your eye, while you criticize the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eyelashes.  That type of criticism and judgment is a sham! Remove the plank from your own eye, and then perhaps you will be able to see clearly how to help your brother flush out his sawdust. – Matthew 7:3-5 (V)

And that will lead us to fairness, justice, mercy, humility and SERVICE.
For the most effective way to fairness, mercy and humility is to simply CHOOSE to navigate this day the WAY Christ ALWAYS chose to navigate His; in service.
…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” - Mark 10:45 (NIV).

For:
…the imitation of Christ does not mean to JUST live a life like Christ, but to live your life as authentically as Christ lived His…Nouwen

So will you choose to live authentically today?
Fairly?
Justly?
Mercifully?
Humbly?

As Christ?
I hope so!

I love you all
