INVINCIBILITY

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Heard a “good word” yesterday.
“Vulnerability creates invincibility.”

It came from Pastor Frank who was pinch hitting for a road weary Pastor Mark yesterday in X-Town. (Xenia)

Caused me think about this little quote I had just shared during a workshop in Canfield, Ohio this past week.

Compassion requires us to be weak with the weak, vulnerable with the vulnerable, and powerless with the powerless. Compassion means full immersion in the condition of being human.” Henri J.M. Nouwen

It is OKAY to be HUMAN!
Remember JESUS was.
Jesus reveal (ed) in an exceptionally HUMAN life what it is to live a divine life… - Gray

Far TOO often because we are the “CHRISTIAN FOLKS” we mistakenly present ourselves as invincible, choosing to HOLD our struggles in or mask them rather than recognizing that when we are vulnerable we allow others to be vulnerable; that when are willing to embrace our weakness GOD is made stronger.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

And when we can admit our weaknesses to ONE ANOTHER, WATCH OUT!!!
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so God can heal you.
When a believing person prays, great things happen – James 5:16 (EXB)

I couldn’t agree more with Pastor Frank on this point.
When we portray ourselves as having it all together, that we in OUR OWN STRENGTH are invincible, we are anything but.

It HURTS us!

Yet in our COLLECTIVE vulnerability, GOD has the pathway and the open door to do the extraordinary.  TO HEAL us, STRENGTHEN us, CHANGE us, and ENLIVEN us!

Brown once remarked that…
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity.
It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity."

IT IS!

So, as you can likely surmise, the idea for today, the thought or action for today is obvious.

It is okay to NOT be invincible.
We aren’t anyway.

So ask yourself:
Are you dealing with something that is chipping away at you?
Share it with a trusted friend.

Are you sensing someone close to you is struggling?
Open up to them by taking the risk with authenticity and love.
Perhaps you will be the ear that helps them heal.

Remember:
“What happens when people open their hearts?"
"They get better.”  Haruki Murakami

I love you all!
Have a blessed day!
OPPORTUNITIES for HOPE
