HE'LL DO THE FIXING

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Sometimes God lets you be in a situation that only He can fix so that you can see that He is the One who fixes it. Rest. He's got it. - Tony Evans

Boy isn’t that the truth?  Hard to trust it sometimes though!
I sort of wish I would have unearthed that little nugget from Evans a few weeks/months back.  It would have certainly helped.

Over the last many months I have been working with some of the best people in the country to try and FIX a problem that truly is something only GOD can fix.  Thanks to a WHOLE lot of confluent circumstances and the nefarious behavior of several we have been locked into what many call a NATIONAL EMERGENCY, opioid addiction.

And there is not a day when I am not talking to someone about it, participating in conference calls to address it, preparing presentations to activate others to help with it or sadly seeing the consequences of it.
It is a consuming challenge.

And we have thrown a lot at it to "fix" it.

DEA efforts. Mental health and addiction specialists.
Local law enforcement efforts.
Treatment modalities.
We have even activated church and community leaders to join hands in coalitions, fundraising, and non-profit efforts to combat it.
And yet the challenge remains.

However, in the last few days I have had some of those smart people remind me that this is a situation that ONLY GOD and GOD’s folks are going to overcome.

And that is a good thing.
Because as it is overcome, GOD will be glorified just as He is when one person embraces the hope delivered at places like HER STORY and SOBER LOTUS; when communities are changed because of the amazing efforts of UNDERSTANDING is GREATER than HEROIN and REACH FOR TOMORROW or when men like BRANDON are transformed by the LOVE of GOD in the walls of OUTREACH for YOUTH or a young lady like RACHEL is embracing her 2nd chance at life at WOODHAVEN and now the NEST.

Those are "but for GOD" type stories!

GOD has waded into this OVERWHELMING situation and when allowed to WORK, is “FIXING” things. His lovingkindness prevails over us [and we triumph and overcome through Him], And the truth of the Lord endures forever…Psalms 117:2 (AMP)

But how about you?
Are you too in a “situation” that doesn’t seem FIXABLE?
TRUST GOD’S prevailing LOVING-KINDNESS.
As Tony said, REST.

Remember the LORD will ALWAYS support you. Psalm 54:4
Remember GOD heartily says,
I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you. - Isaiah 41:13 (MSG)

Is it time to take a step back from the situation?
Is it time to do what you can do and then try to relax?
GOD has it and you.
Let GOD take it.
Be attuned to the wisdom around you GOD enlists to help.  I can speak confidently that He does that sort of thing.  Just yesterday 2 amazing women reminded me of that.

And let GOD do the fixing.
You save some of your energy for the praising when He does.

When we reach the hilltops of heaven, and look back upon all the way whereby the Lord our God hath led us, how shall we praise Him who, before the eternal throne, undid the mischief which Satan was doing upon earth. - Spurgeon
