LORD's WORK

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. – Colossians 3:23 (NLT)

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway. - Mother Teresa

We often seek the approval of folks for the things we do.  And while those affirmations are wonderful take it from someone who has a little disorder in that area they can be fickle.  So, I now effort each day not to put as much stock in them as I used to.  It isn’t easy believe me.

But just spend a minute on social media and you will see exactly what I am talking about.

Well intended and good-natured programs and efforts are often criticized not on their merit but rather on their genesis; was this a Republican idea or a Democrat idea.  Many wait to see which color, RED or BLUE is on the idea before crafting an opinion, offering an endorsement or exercising criticism.

Just look at how people who perhaps were once fans of someone like Lindsey Vonn quickly incinerated all her past accomplishments and greatness on the slopes due to a recent failure and some ill-timed comments.
Many even delighted in her mistake.

And before you do the same to me today, I don’t have an opinion one way or another on Lindsey Vonn, I am just using her as an example.
There are countless others ask Fergie.

The good we do today is often forgotten tomorrow.
Leaning on the approval of others as our motivation to do good and be our best is misguided.

That is why I love what Mother Teresa and the apostle Paul say about “why” we work.
We should always work unto the LORD, as if it is the LORD who is our only audience or benefactor.

So, the message today should be easy to grasp.

Remember ALL that you do is TRULY for an AUDIENCE of ONE.
Seek Him FIRST in all that you do and leave all the other stuff to Him to sort out and reward. (Matthew 6:33)

Today IS the LORD’S.

Seek your approval in what HE will say about today's efforts.
Truth is you may NOT get credit for any of them.  That is okay.
People who have praised you in the past for your efforts may change their tune, but you keep doing GOOD WORK anyway.

Remember…
…every good endeavor, even the simplest ones, pursued in response to God's calling, can (and will) matter forever."
- Tim Keller

Love you all!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
OPPORTUNITIES for HOPE
