FIND FAITH

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Roosevelt remarked:

“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith.”

Yesterday our Pastor spent a little time on this thing, faith.

Just what is it?

…It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. – Hebrews 11:1 (LB)

Faith quells uncertainty, it dispels doubt.  But sometimes it is hard to find that confident assurance, right?

Perhaps there is an opportunity in an upcoming tomorrow, but it comes with some risk and demands some “real faith”.

Maybe there is some writing on the wall that would indicate “change” is coming and that “unknown” has you fearful, apprehensive or “borrowing trouble” like my dear Grandma Winnie used to say.

Or maybe things that were once tightly wound are starting to unravel or at least look a little more thread-bare?

Is it time for some faith?

I was spending some time with a family member yesterday and this was the CORE of our conversation.  He is experiencing some VERY unexpected and unwelcomed challenges right now.  His tightly wound world is unraveling a bit. And his faith is being tested.  The unknown has him a little unhinged.

But Ten Boom reminds us, "to never be afraid to trust an UNKNOWN future to a KNOWN GOD."

Friends…

“Faith is a place of mystery, where we find the courage to believe in what we cannot see and the strength to let go of our fear of uncertainty.” ― BrenĂ© Brown

Go back and read that from Brown again!

All of us have had times when certainty was scarce; times when we wished GOD would give us something TANGIBLE to help assure us.

Yet GOD instead says trust me.

GOD says seek me.

GOD says listen to me.

GOD says have FAITH in me.

GOD says it will work out. (Romans 8:28)

Yet we believe we “need”; we “need” to know, we “need” some help, we “need” direction, we “need” resource. we “need” clarity.

But tell the truth, what we think we “need” is control.

That is most certainly the case for my family member.

But GOD isn’t motivated by our need.  And He certainly knows better than to give us control.  From His perspective, those needs are “covered”.

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches… Philippians 4:19 (AMP)

What motivates GOD is our faith.

The righteous live by it… (Galatians 3:11)

And without it, we can’t please GOD (Hebrews 11:6)

Sounds like we better get to finding it then, huh?

Friend, are you pensively staring at uncertainty, an “unknown future”?  If so, then perhaps it’s time to find a little faith.  Remember it only takes a little to do a lot. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed…Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20 (NIV)

Be assured of this, “Faith. It does not make things easy, it makes them possible.” Unknown.

Have a BLESSED DAY!

Love all of you…
