WHEN YOU BLOW IT

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

When you blow it, God still celebrates His Son in you. The litmus test of whether or not you understand the gospel is what you do when you fail. Do you run from Him and go clean yourself up a little bit before you come back into the throne room? Or do you approach the throne of grace with confidence? If you don't approach the throne of grace with confidence, you don't understand the gospel.

Matt Chandler

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. - Hebrews 4:15-16 (NLT)

Yet that is tough when we blow it right?

Maybe you had a mom or a dad that when you “blew it” the last place you wanted to be was anywhere NEAR them.

You knew there was likely a consequence coming.

Ever get in trouble in school and have to “wait” til one of them got home? Oh, the dread!

At least for me.

I will be honest.  Those moments are LODGED deep inside my hippocampus. And so are those fears.  And the more learn about TRAUMA and our responses, the more I can understand WHY this truth shared by the writer of HEBREWS would be hard to fathom.

We blow it and we are to come BOLDLY for help?

Doesn’t make sense.  At least not to me.

Lord knows I blow it a lot.

Crazy thoughts.

Quick frustrations.

Less than stellar actions.

But Chandler and our writer ASSURE us that in our failures, that in our weak moments we DON’T lose access to our FATHER and we don’t relinquish our sonship or daughter-ship.

Quite the opposite.

It is in those moments that GOD does His best work for us.

my power finds its full expression through your weakness.

1 Corinthians 12:9 (TPT)

That doesn’t give us license to KEEP blowing it. (Read Romans 6)

Yet it does switch the narrative for when we do.

Instead of slinking away from ABBA we should RUN to Him.

There we will find OPEN arms, grace, opportunity, and mercy.  There we can regain our footing.

There we can quell the relentless brow-beating of the enemy shaming us to keep slinking.

There we can regain our confidence in WHO we are and WHOSE we are.

…God’s chosen treasure…He claims you as his very own.

From 1 Peter 2:9 (TPT)

Often it is our mistakes that confirm WHO WE AREN’T as GRACE reminds us WHO we ARE. - Delaney

Have a blessed day today!

I love you all
