GET UP

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down. - Mary Pickford

For the lovers of God may suffer adversity and stumble seven times, but they will continue to rise over and over again. – Proverbs 24:16 (TPT)

I love how GOD is always ready to provide a FRESH START, to do a new thing for us.

Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.  Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. – Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

I welcome the opportunities for fresh starts, for new seasons.

I don’t know about you but when I have been in the throes of adversity, I am EAGERLY waiting for the page to turn or the season to change.
I am sure you are too.

And Pickford is right.  A fresh start, a getting back up, not allowing failing to be fatal is one of the amazing gifts of GOD.

GOD loves to restore.

GOD loves to refresh.

GOD loves to lift. Psalm 3:3

The promise of a new start is such a part of the work I do.

The folks who have fallen often.

The folks who have failed.

The folks who have betrayed trust, betrayed the families, even betrayed the law.

GOD still offers them that same fresh start.

GOD offers them His new thing.

They just need “not to stay down” but “GET UP”

Sterling W. Sill recounts that…

“In Jack Dempsey's early days he had a fight contract, which paid him two dollars per fight for the fights he won. He received nothing for the fights he lost. Jack Dempsey said that in his early days he was knocked down a lot of times and he usually was tempted to stay down because he knew that no one would hit him again until he started to get up. But Jack was a hungry fighter and he knew that if he was going to eat, he must get up in order to get the two dollars. He tells of one occasion when he was knocked down 11 times in one fight, and 11 times he got up in order to win the $2.”

Dempsey parlayed that persistence into becoming a champion!

The point of today is if you are in the midst of a tough season that has knocked you down, GET UP.

A fresh start is at the door.

Don’t wallow in the history, embrace the possibilities.

Today a new thing is waiting for the one who GETS UP!

Have a blessed day…

I love you all.
