Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Isaiah 54:4
Don’t be afraid! You will not be disappointed.
That is part of a little passage shared yesterday by my adopted lil sis’ N.J. I chose a little different translation but wanted to share its powerful truth! For while it was a great passage for her message Sunday, I also believe it packs quite the punch on a MONDAY too!
At one time or another, fear enters the life of every believer. It is inevitable. We live in a pretty scary time and place. Shutdowns, uncertainties, looming challenges from opposing parties, conflict, confusion and chaos abound. And while fear may push its way to the front of our mind every now and then, it doesn’t need to remain there for too long. Remember GOD didn’t give us a spirit that should let fear linger.
2 Timothy 1:7
...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Therefore when fear tries to muscle in, we must remember this truth; that we have a power coursing through our spirit that DEFEATS fear! The HOLY SPIRIT!
So in order to overcome this unwanted and pushy guest, we must first acknowledge its presence. Ignoring anxiety or our fears often causes us to seek a “work around” or go into hiding. Neither of those provides much more than a perpetuation of the problem. Worse yet, it leads to us settling for "our solutions". And why do that when GOD has the answer to the problem already!
Proverbs 3:5-6
…don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.
Once acknowledged, fear must be “fleshed out.” What is causing the grief, the anxiety, the trepidation? Sometimes, we feel anxious without knowing the reason. But the Holy Spirit can reveal why we are being held captive. GOD’s voice will dissect the dilemma and point us to deliverance!
And once confronted and uncovered our next step is to defeat the fear! And what better tool could there be for breaking it down than the Bible, the weapon of the Spirit!
Ephesians 6:17
…God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.
God’s Word speaks to our individual fears! It offers the help we need, the guidance, the route, and the power!
2 Timothy 3:15
…Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another…
So ask yourself, are you fearful this morning? If so, let’s go to that indispensable weapon and eliminate that anxiety!
Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will give you strength, and for sure I will help you. Yes, I will hold you up with My right hand that is right and good.
FEAR GONE? It should be!
Bottom line friends is that trusting God is the only way to be free from fear; trusting His truth and exercising that weapon is the only way to triumph!
It is your choice today. To let fear freeze you or let truth triumph!
Which one will it be?
Isaiah 54:4
Don’t be afraid!
I love you all!
