GRAB A GLIMPSE

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

James 1:25 (MSG)
But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God— the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.

What are you looking for today?

The revealed counsel of GOD or perhaps something else?

GOD has prepared good counsel and a proper path for you today.

I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.” (Isaiah 48:17 NLT)

Question is will we look for it, if even just from the corner of our eyes?  And once we see it, its freedom, its goodness, its providence and purpose will we “stick to it” or be tempted to go in a different direction down a different path?  Will we followed the revealed counsel?

Proverbs reminds us to:

Listen to counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, That you may be wise in the time to come. (That) Many plans are in a man’s (or woman’s) mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him/her that will stand (be carried out). 19:20-21 (AMP)

The choice is ours.

Yet what I appreciate most about this verse from James is that “catch a glimpse” statement.  GOD is so overwhelmingly good, His ways and paths so intensely better than anything we could conjure or imagine (see Ephesians 3:20), that if we can turn that glimpse into obedience we will find DELIGHT! 

We will be affirmed in its direction!

for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless  - Psalm 18:30 (NIV)

So:

Want to walk and operate FREELY today?  Grab a glimpse of GOD.

Want to make better choices and decisions? Grab a glimpse of GOD.

Want to see the day fill up with good things? Grab a glimpse of GOD.

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice…they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always …thinking about ways to follow him more closely.

Tim Tebow once said,

“God is concerned that we are trusting and seeking Him and His desire is for us to align our lives with His Word and His will.”

That starts with a glimpse.
