MINEFIELD OF MIRACLES

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“We daily live in a minefield of miracles”, she said.

I told her I was going to write that one down.
Let me give you a little background to this particular encounter.

I was honored yesterday to share what I call “Hope Changes Everything” with 2 services of the Germantown United Methodist congregation.  It was a morning dedicated to hope and testimony.  In fact I was privileged to have 4 of our Refuge men in tow to be “proof” that hope can change everything; that HOPE CAN change for the better heroin addicts, womanizers, deadbeat dads, and prodigal sons.

That would at least sum up my four in tow and me for that matter.

We were at this church at the invitation of another “Refuge fella", Nick.  Nick once incarcerated, covered in nacho cheese and chili (you will have to ask him about that) was now clean, sober, Spirit-filled, married and employed.
Hope has changed Nick.

But back to the “minefield”.
She was so positive so “absolute” in her statement. It was said with bright eyes and a huge smile like someone who had a miracle she couldn’t wait to share. Yet that was not the case.  I mean after sharing that little nugget of hope she then told me about the challenge of her marriage to a second generation alcoholic.  She shared the pain of a son incarcerated due to a heroin addiction introduced by this same husband/father.  Now divorced and unsure of what was next for her son and yet she was talking about “minefields” of miracles; about being aware of it.

She explained her “day to day” journey, her commitment to constantly remember:
“In everything give thanks, that is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus for you”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

She was moved by the cardboard testimonies that were shared yesterday demonstrating the amazing power of hope, and the miracles of men and women changed by the healing and transforming power of the gospel.

And even though her hope was seemingly in “delay”, she is remaining alert to the messages, the minefield of GOD’S providence and deliverance surrounding her.  No bitterness.  No covetousness. No envy that these sons had changed and hers was still behind bars.
No she was enjoying the miraculous and HOPEFULLY wandering the minefield of GOD lays out for her each and every day.

So I ask us this morning.
It is likely we are preparing to step into a minefield of miracles this morning.
Are you alert?
Willing to give thanks for all of GOD’S intersections?
Willing to rejoice in the blessings of others and be reminded of GOD’S providence; to see those as affirmations?
Ready to stay in and appreciate the moments?
Ready for GOD to detonate a miracle or two?
I HOPE so!

Love you all…
