SOME PEOPLE CHANGE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (MSG)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

On the road to no-where fast,
Till the Grace of God got in the way.
Then he saw the Light an' hit his knees an' cried an' said a prayer:
Rose up a brand new man; left the old one right there.
Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave.
Don't give up hope: some people change.
Against all odds, against the grain,
Love finds a way: some people change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JNVpJy4IFs

2 Timothy 2… (MSG)
You never know how or when God might sober (someone) up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, enabling them to escape the Devil’s trap, where they are caught and held captive, forced to run his errands.

I mentioned yesterday about the possibility of taking a friend to a mission/recovery partner.  Well that transpired.

When I picked my friend up from the DePaul House he looked tired.  He was a little ragged around the edges.  For 51 he looked at least a decade older.  Everything that he “owned” fit into my back seat.  He was ready for “something different”; a CHANGE.

Praise GOD we could offer it!

And as I pulled away from the mission in Hillsboro, early yesterday afternoon, I knew my friend was going to be well cared for and I am believing he can CHANGE!  Mind you the night before (Tues) was littered by crack cocaine and alcohol, but yesterday was a new day a new chance.

That is why I was reminded of this little lyric from a Montgomery Gentry song that I discovered via Michael English.

My friend E.W. WAS…
On the road to no-where fast, Till the Grace of God got in the way. Then he saw the Light an' hit his knees an' cried an' said a prayer (and called a friend).
And I am praying that as he continues his journey, we ALL can say he…
Rose up a brand new man; left the old one right there on St. Claire Street in Dayton.

The truth of that little lyric and that powerful message from Paul to Timothy are blissfully true.
Some people change.

I know my friend was reminded that GOD hadn’t given up on him.  The orchestra of circumstances and favor that were needed to get him to Hillsboro yesterday were quite extraordinary; ordained.  GOD was doing his best work to “sober E.W. up” and release him from those devilish errands concocted by the enemy and executed by the drug dealers and takers in his life.
Pray for him, today will you?

Truth is, we all need a little changing.
I know I do.  I need folks in my life to hold me accountable to my blind spots and selfishness.
I am grateful that GOD places them in my life, hoping that I will listen and continue to make positive changes!

Yet, is there someone in your life that has frustrated or discouraged you; destined to seemingly never change?  Maybe that is the person in the mirror?
Don’t give up!
As Michael sings:
Don't give up hope: some people change.
Against all odds, against the grain,
Love finds a way: some people change.
Remember…
“The truth has a way of changing people…” – Roth
…know the truth, and the truth will make you free. – John 8:32 (ESV)

I love you all.
Have a blessed DAY!!
OPPORTUNITIES for HOPE
