Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Do you know what the word “testimony” means in Hebrew?
It means “do it again.”
When God does something for one person, it reveals His heart on the matter, and He wants to do it again.
When we speak of what He has done, it is able to affect change again for the present and the future.
This was brought to my attention yesterday by a dear friend and colleague, Pastor Pat Murray.
He is a fascinating leader.
While progressive in his approaches he is deeply rooted. And while effervescent, he is deeply grounded. And my time with him is always a time of enriching and refreshment.
And as we were discussing his dream for a “dream center” in Dayton, he shared this little insight as to the word TESTIMONY; “do it again”.
We often, at least in my circles, relish the power of the testimony. We often site the passage from Revelation, they overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Rev 12:11 ASV). We encourage our folks who are experiencing recovery and freedom to SHARE THAT STORY, to TESTIFY to what GOD is doing!
And I will be honest, it is the stories, the testimonies that do bring about amazing change. The folks who are sharing their stories are always encouraged, emboldened and advanced and those who hear it are given hope!
So, when something has that kind of impact WE SHOULD “do it again” and again and again.
You all remember the little Sunday school song, “This Little Light of Mine” right?
This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine!
If you remember the song we are going to let it shine til Jesus comes, we are never going to hide it under a bushel or let Satan “poof” it out! NO!
We are going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
Again and again and again!
For friends, when our tests become testimonies as the old cliché says or when our messes become messages, GOD is revealed, GOD is glorified and folks are infused with “possibility”; that if we survived the test, that if we emerged from the mess they can too!
So, we should share the testimony and then do it again! Let our lights shine!
Hence the question today for you is:
“What has GOD done for you that needs a little testifying?”
Has He turned a bad situation into a good one like He does? (Romans 8:28)
Has He opened an unexpected door of provision recently? (Philippians 4:19)
Has He made a way when their seemed to be no way?
Shine a light on them! Testify to the LORD’S impact on your life!
And then DO IT AGAIN!
There is absolutely nothing in this world that will provide more comfort and happiness than a testimony of the truth. - TSM
Have a blessed day.
I love you all!
