Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and
cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for
what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray.
Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Those of you who know me well, know that I am not
one for “PROCESS”. While I do
plan and do seek excellence in PREPARATION and PRESENTATION, PROCESS is not a “positive
P” in my makeup.
That is why I am grateful for friends like Marisa,
Danius and others for whom that is their gifting. I am honored and blessed to have them in my
camp to help move our recovery work forward!
Truth is though we all CAN BENEFIT from a little process.
It helps especially when discipline BOLSTERS our relationship with the LORD.
So, another of my old process pals recently shared
a little “DAILY” process that helps him (and it will us) enhance his
relationship with the FATHER and in turn HELPS him (and us) better attune to GOD’s
direction and plan!
1. Find times of SOLITUDE with the LORD.
Find a time and place to practice solitude.
Remember, God created you primarily to be in community with Him. If you can't
find the words, just P-R-A-Y:
P–Praise:
Thank God for Who He is. Call out His goodness and good works.
R–Repent:
Be honest about your sin and the ways you’ve fallen short.
A–Ask:
Tell God about what is missing in your life or about friends who are
hurting.
Y–Yield:
Surrender yourself. Talk to God about the direction your life is going.
2. Spend TIME in SCRIPTURE
All scripture is inspired by God and is
useful for teaching the faith and correcting error, for re-setting the
direction of a man’s life and training him in good living.
– 1 Timothy 3:17 (PH)
Use it!
3. Got time for a little SERVICE?
Remember the Son of Man came to serve! What better
way to attune yourself!
Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity,
believed that anyone could see God. He cited the above quotation as the mandate
for Habitat for Humanity and said, “As long as any person is outside, we will
use a hammer to manifest the presence of God’s love.”
4. Stay close to your SUPPORT
By yourself you’re unprotected. With a
friend you can face the worst. – Ecclesiastes 4:12 (MSG)
Think about a time when a FRIEND was exactly what
was needed to “reset the day”. Don’t neglect
those opportunities!
Is today a good day to listen to my process-savvy
partners?
Maybe incorporate a little intentionality to
walking and “being” with GOD today?
It will refresh and enliven you!
So, get away for a second.
Grab your Bible.
Look for a way to serve.
Scurry up a little support or SHARE what GOD
is doing with someone else and today will become a "5th S" in the
process, a SPECIAL DAY!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
LOVE YOU ALL
OPPORTUNITIES
for HOPE
