Have
you thanked Him?
Have
you praised Him?
Have
you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have
you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know
how, for everyone you know.
As
hard as we try, we do “stumble” sometimes don’t we?
We
are human and fallible after all. Sometimes our sinful stumbles are small like
stubbing our toe on a bump in the sidewalk and other times they are more like
slipping head over heels on the ice.
Yet
regardless if we just miss a step or take a tumble isn’t it good to know GOD
still has us by the hand and is there to pull us back up?
That
is one of the beautiful promises of grace my friends.
For
GOD knows I will sin.
GOD
knows I am not very sure in my footing. He said so.
For everyone has sinned; we all FALL short of God’s glorious
standard. - Romans 3:23 (NLT)
And
even though He vehemently hates the sin He deeply loves us, the sinner, so He graciously
hangs on to us beckoning us to get back up and take the next step when we lose
our footing!
…he is…patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be
destroyed…2 Peter 3:9 (GNB)
When he falls, he/she will not be thrown down, because the Lord
holds his/her hand. Psalm 37:24 (GB)
What
a picture! Just envision a father—a daddy—walking along with his young child.
The child trips, but the father is holding tightly to the youngster's hand and
holds him up, keeping him from falling to the ground.
That
is GOD for us!
We
stumble and slip in sin. We trip on temptations. We bobble in bad behavior yet
there is GOD holding tightly, determined to pull us back to balance and back on
track!
Maybe
recently you took a spill on the icy sidewalk of sin or maybe your walk was
interrupted with a stumble or two.
Take
heart this morning.
GOD
NEVER LET GO!
GOD
was holding on!
Remember,
“God’s hand never slips…” – Billy Graham
…you, O God, are both tender and kind, not easily angered, immense
in love, and you never, never quit…you, God, gently and powerfully put me back
on my feet. Psalm 86:17 (MSG)
So,
let’s hold tightly and start today on GOOD FOOTING. We can you know!
…walk in the way that is right with God - Proverbs 8:20 (MSG)
