BREATH

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Always a little taken aback at some of the things that happen at AHOP FREEDOM CHURCH. This past Monday was no exception. It is never more “lovely” than to see folks experiencing FREEDOM on a new level.

Whether it is D, who is approaching 9 months sober in a week or two faithfully greeting every person who comes, or G who was just released from jail, faithfully returning to the fellowship with two new friends in tow, it is a blessing to behold!

Their countenance is different and THEIR SPEECH is most certainly different!

If you are ever wondering if GOD changes people, come and hang out on a Monday sometime.  Change is happening. New creations are being birthed every day.

GOD is BREATHING new life into once dead spaces.

That brings me to Josh.
He is one of the fellas who lead worship from time to time at FREEDOM.  And while singing the lyric, “You’re the breath in our lungs so we pour out our praise” he was blessed with a solid bit of revelation.
Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

GOD breathed into our lives.
So every BREATH is His.  It is HIS breath.

Therefore how we use it should be for HIS glory.
Think about it.

Each time we exhale we are given the opportunity to make it a sweet and familiar sound to ear of GOD; one that expresses love and gratitude.

Made me think of this little lyric…
I love you, Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh, my soul, rejoice!
Take joy my King
In what You hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear

So it begs the question.
How are you planning to use your “breath” today?  Will sweet sounds emanate as it crosses your vocal chords or will it be more shrill and sharp?
For this is the truth.
Luke 6:45
Whatever is in the heart overflows into speech.
It is up to you.

So remember today. It’s HIS breath.
Make it sweet.
“How would your life be different if…You walked away from gossip and verbal defamation? Let today be the day…You speak only the good you know of other people and encourage others to do the same.” ― Steve Maraboli

I love you all!
