ASK GOD

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Colossians 1:9-12 (NIV)
…ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father...

I was spending a little time with a friend yesterday and we were talking about the importance of making the most of EACH DAY.  So that made me think, let’s get today or if necessary the next few “minutes” off to a good start or maybe for some “back on track”.

We can take our cue from Paul:

1.    Let’s ask GOD for direction (His will) and understanding for what we are about to encounter today.  Let’s best align ourselves with the expectations of GOD.  This is an individual process.  GOD knows specifically what your best course of action and reaction is for today.  Ask Him to help you see it so that you can please Him!
A person’s steps are made secure by the Lord when they delight in his way. Psalm 37:23 (CEB)

    2.   Pray that GOD is glorified in all that you say and do today (bear good fruit).  Step out of     the busyness of your schedule and seek an opportunity to bless someone else or in whatever     you do or say today, do it in a manner that GOD would be recognized and glorified!
Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the     Lord...Colossians 3:23 (TLB)

    3.   Commit to “advancing” in the LORD today by committing yourself to do what HE would     have you DO!
…make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try     to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to. Ephesians 5:16-17 (LB)

    4.   Be grateful for the day.
No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ     Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (LB)

Now pause just for a second and pray this little prayer:

"Dear Lord, help me remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority. Awaken me in body and spirit TODAY with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak words of affirmation, assurance, and wisdom over my heart as I prepare for this day.
Place me and keep me in your WILL!
I am grateful we can do today together.  Thanks for that.
In Jesus' Name, Amen."

I believe if you do these simple little things, remembering the instruction from Colossians 1 and committing your heart mind and body to what GOD wants for today, GOD will take your hand and your day will feel His impact.
It will.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5 (ESV)

I love you all…
Have a blessed day!
