EGO

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

It’s always refreshing to “reconnect”.
It is good for me to reset.

Last night I was afforded the blessed opportunity to join the WARRIOR Project (https://www.facebook.com/warriorsproject.org/), "TINY"(their founder),
Pastor Randy and a vibrant and receptive group of seekers and recoverers at Akron Bible Church for a good word from new partners Darryl and Tracy Strawberry of www.strawberryministries.org

I will be truthful, with all the meetings, conferences, initiatives, and coalition work in recent weeks, I haven’t had a chance to just “sit in” and listen.

It was energizing.
Sitting next to me was a WOMEN’S HOUSE founder (Sarah’s House in Akron), a woman who GOD had completely transformed.  On the other side was a little girl who last night GAVE her HEART to JESUS as the invitation was shared.

Those nights are special.

Yet it was something that Darryl shared, something I had heard some time ago that “struck me” once again; something that I struggle with even today.

Darryl reminded us that the CORE of this challenge is OFTEN “EGO”.
EASING
GOD
OUT
It was for him.
I most certainly was for me.

When I reflect on my precipitous fall, I didn’t just “ease” GOD out, I ignored Him altogether.  I “pretended” to keep Him engaged to keep up appearances, but the truth was that there WAS a direct CORRELATION between my “easing GOD out” EGO and my mess.

To net it out, MORE GREG and LESS GOD nearly killed me.

Even that amazing theologian Dwayne “THE ROCK” Johnson said, “The ego can be the great success inhibitor. It can kill opportunities, and it can kill success.”

The BIBLE says,
Proverbs 22:4 (ESV) The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life

So, let’s both take a moment to reflect on our plans for today.
Let’s take a second to reflect on who or what is in charge today.

Have you eased GOD out?
Maybe it was unintentional.
Priorities shift.  Ambition can be a little blinding.

But the ROCK is right.
EGO is an inhibitor.
Hightower commented that “ego is a silent partner...too often with a controlling interest.”

So, let’s open with something familiar that WILL “bring GOD back into control” and keep the EGO in check today!
Let’s...
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.  - Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

That ought to do it!

I love you all!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
OPPORTUNITIES for HOPE
