Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
We hear the saying “I’ve got this covered” from time to time.
Maybe the boss says it at the restaurant after lunch is over.
I have been on some outings where a sponsor has said “I’ve got this covered” referring to all the night’s activities or the tickets.
Perhaps you have said it yourself to let a co-worker know you were going to make sure a particular task or job got done.
Yet as Pastor Eric was sharing last night during our choir rehearsal I was reminded of someone else who uttered “I’ve got this covered.”
Jesus.
At the cross Jesus let us know that “He had it and us covered”; covered by His own blood.
Punishment for sin? Jesus said, “I’ve got this COVERED.”
Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace...
Acceptance? Jesus said “I’ve got this COVERED.”
Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ...
Access to peace and healing? Jesus said “I’ve got this COVERED.”
Isaiah 53:5
…he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.
At the cross Jesus "covered" it all.
All we would ever need was "covered " at Calvary. There is nothing we can do or say to ever repay or qualify, but we don't have to. All we need to do is "accept the covering".
Ephesians 2:8
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
You see when Jesus said “I’ve got this covered”, we were not only saved but he “covered”, paid for and paved the way for our access to a free and abundant life. And this “covering”impacts us daily, it sets us apart, it opens the door to complete freedom and grace!
Ephesians 1:7
Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free!
So as you roll out today and go about the duties and obligations of life, thank Jesus and walk FREELY and CONFIDENTLY for HE has truly got you“covered”.
I love you all!
