VIGOROUS TRUST

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (MSG)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“Adversity is a bridge to a deeper relationship with God.” – Charles Stanley

“When you face adversity, you need to remind yourself that whatever is trying to defeat you could very well be what God will use to promote you.” ― Joel Osteen

A little fella is on his way to chemotherapy this morning.

A single mom is facing the reality of homelessness, 3 children, no money and no support.

Another is in a motel scraping together bits and pieces to keep she and her 10 year old with a roof and a sandwich.

Another single mom who went looking for a landlord’s grace and found an eviction notice instead.

A dedicated man is faced with the dilemma of too much month and not enough money.

A mom sits in jail having to face the consequence of reminiscing with an old addiction.

Tough times.  And that was just a Tuesday at the TREE.  Just the morning...!
Truth is no one likes to face adversity. No one.
I don’t.
I will venture to say you don’t either.

But as Charles and Joel elude adversity is often for promotion…to draw us closer to GOD.
2 Corinthians 7:11
…this distress goaded you closer to God? (It can make you) more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible.

Often we go running from our challenges rather than trusting GOD to WALK us through them.  We complain about them rather than embrace their purpose and teaching. We must always remember...  GOD will cover us…
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (ESV)
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…

Today is a call for you to pray for those situations.  Pray that those impacted will draw nearer to GOD in the affliction. Pray that these folks will experience the promise of GOD to never leave them, forsake them nor allow them to be overwhelmed.
Can you do that?  The TREE and I would appreciate it!

But should we add you to that prayer list today?

Are you facing adversity that feels more like punishment than promotion?

Trust GOD.  I mean TRUST HIM.  Grab hold with both hands, be intentional!
Build the bridge. Embrace the promotion!

Trust is not a passive state of mind. It is a vigorous act of the soul by which we choose to lay hold on the promises of God and cling to them despite the adversity that at times seeks to overwhelm us. ― Jerry Bridges

1 Corinthians 10:13
…God is faithful… always provides a way of escape so that you will be able to endure and keep moving forward.

Have a blessed DAY!

I love you all…
