INTERVENTION!

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
I am sure that some of you have stumbled on the show “Intervention”on T.V. once or twice. The premise of the show is they convince someone who is addicted or troubled that they are going to be the subject of a documentary on addiction and a camera crew travel with them, their family and friends cataloging all of their drama.
The show can be quite disturbing really. Beth used to threaten video-taping me back in the day so I could see just how bad I really was. Thank the Lord she didn’t.
But at the end of every episode, once all of the “bad behavior”has been exploited and the need for help exposed, the show culminates with a big INTERVENTION and the one in question gets a chance to choose change or stay in their challenge. Then hopefully if the one who is hurting decides to accept the help, they whisk them off to a clinic or camp and the rehab begins.
Thinking a little about that show today brought me to this little verse.
Colossians 1:21
You yourselves are a case study of what he does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God’s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted.
We too, like those folks on the show have had our moments of rebellion giving GOD trouble every chance we got. Maybe not to the degree of the subjects of the show, but we all are sinners aren’t we?
Romans 3:23
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard,
And GOD has been witness to all of those missteps and misgivings hasn’t He?
Yet GOD amazingly offered us a glorious INTERVENTION. He sent JESUS.
A tiny infant; the inspiration of shepherds and wise men; an intervention of such magnitude and power that through Him, this Wonderful Counselor, this Everlasting Father, this Prince of Peace GOD's GIFT of GRACE was given!
That truly is an intervention we embrace! An opportunity we relish! A gift we cling to!
Our lives put together again! Our Savior and King!
Today, thank GOD for His wonderful INTERVENTION, Jesus. Stay grounded and tuned in to His message of GRACE!
I love you all.
