EXCELLENCE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

I share this quote today on the heels of MLK's BIRTHDAY and a little similar inspiration shared by our Pastor Mark over the weekend.  That as CHRISTIANS we are called to do “whatever” we do with EXCELLENCE!

And EXCELLENCE begins with our thoughts…
Philippians 4:8 ESV
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
…and transfers into our DEEDS!
Colossians 3:23 (AMP)
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,

I know that this theme of doing our best and serving with excellence has not gone uncovered by the DISPATCH.  But often we can use a little reminder.

The doldrums of January are lurking.  The resolutions and enthusiasm of “commitments and change” perhaps have already started to wane or be forgotten.
Stay focused.

Let GOD inspire you today to CONTINUED excellence in what you say and do!

2 Corinthians 8:7 (NET)
But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, and in all eagerness and in the love...that is in you—make sure that you excel in... kindness too.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (NASB)
And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound (excel) in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you, so that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

1 Thessalonians 4:1 (NASB)
Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you may excel still more.

Often:
The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor. - Vince Lombardi

That includes being a CHRISTIAN!
Be an EXCELLENT one today!

I love you all…
Freedom Church
