"DO WHATEVER"

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
John 2:5
…his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Early on Mary had the right idea.
This is what she instructed the servants at a wedding in Canaan where Jesus’ miracle run began.
She kept it short.
She kept it to the point.
And she provided us with the most profound, complete and beneficial instruction ever.
“Do whatever HE (Jesus) tells you to do.”
How much better off ALL of us would be if we just heeded that simple instruction?
I mean those that came before Jesus knew the importance of following instructions.
Proverbs 19:20
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.
Why don’t we?
Sadly we aren’t too good at following instructions are we? We often don’t do what Jesus tells us to do. Instead we try our own way, listen to other’s advice or follow instructions from the wicked.
Seems silly when Jesus is “the way, the truth” and such doesn't it?
So why not simplify today?
Today, let’s just try to do what Jesus tells us to do.
John 13:34
Love one another, as I have loved you.
Can we do that one? I think so!
How about these...:
Matthew 6:1
Be especially careful when you are trying to be good so that you don’t make a performance out of it. It might be good theater, but the God who made you won’t be applauding.
Matthew 6:19
Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves. If your profits are in heaven, your heart will be there too.
Matthew 7:3-6
Why do you notice the little piece of dust in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the big piece of wood in your own eye? How can you say to your friend, ‘Let me take that little piece of dust out of your eye’? Look at yourself! You still have that big piece of wood in your own eye. You hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to take the dust out of your friend’s eye.
Good instructions right? Nuggets of crucial wisdom wouldn’t you agree?
You all know the passages could go on and on. Important teaching and guidance from Jesus is woven throughout the WORD.
There is tons of it!
My encouragement today is to “seek” some of it.
Jesus has instruction for how to handle that conflict today. Jesus has wisdom for your relationship that is tattered. Jesus offers insight to the peace and grace of the FATHER that you are desperately searching for. Jesus will teach you how to love and serve!
So crack that book open today and listen to Mary…
“Do whatever HE tells you to do”.
Have a blessed day…
I love you all!
