PSALM 40 CHALLENGE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Psalm 40
I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing, of praises to our God.
Now many will hear of the glorious things he did for me, and stand in awe before the Lord, and put their trust in him.
Many blessings are given to those who trust the Lord and have no confidence in those who are proud or who trust in idols.
O Lord my God, many and many a time you have done great miracles for us, and we are ever in your thoughts.
Who else can do such glorious things? No one else can be compared with you.
There isn’t time to tell of all your wonderful deeds...

I had the privilege to sit and listen to a lead last Friday at one of our FREEDOM RECOVERY MINISTRIES partner’s meetings.  I had heard the lead before.  I have shared the crux of the story in an early DISPATCH.  It is a story of amazing deliverance and forgiveness.  “#itsreal” was the title if you want to check it out at the blog site http://www.ahopxenia.com/#/ministries/freedom.

However at the end of the lead, Pastor Dan was led to share this passage from Psalms.  It truly summed up the lead but if you read it closely it can apply to each of us for today.

Each of us can tell a story or mention a time when we have needed GOD and when we waited on HIM, when we were patient and trusting and GOD showed up; GOD lifted; GOD changed things!  That is what He does!

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Each of us can tell a story of a time when GOD gave us a NEW SONG to sing.
Perhaps life was going nowhere for you, perhaps happiness and joy were merely concepts or words until GOD stepped in.  That is reason for GRATITUDE and REJOICING.  That is a reason to SING!

So here is what I want you to do. Here is the challenge for today.

I want you to think back on your own just recent past.  Are there signs of the miraculous? Has GOD done something great for you or for those you love?  Have you paused to thank Him?  Have you paused to TELL someone as the Psalm suggests?

Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the "busyness" of life; to get consumed with the day and its events and forget GOD’s impact on our lives.

This PSALM is a powerful reminder of the providence of GOD.  This PSALM is a wonderful testimony of GOD’s amazing ability to turn life around, to reset our path, to bring hope from hopelessness, and to lift us beyond our dreams and aspirations.

So here is the rest of your challenge...

Go back to the TOP of this DISPATCH.
READ this PSALM aloud over yourself today.

Then...
Pause and THANK GOD for the miracles in your life.  Pause and THANK GOD if He has delivered you from pits and challenges.  Pause and PRAISE GOD for His INCOMPARABLE love for you!  If you need to sing that new song, sing it!  If you need to tell someone about GOD's impact on your life, don't hesitate...SHARE it!

Take the challenge!
It will inspire you!

I love you all!
