GOD'S GLORY

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

1 Peter 4:8-11
…love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything…

One of the things that a dear mentor of mine taught me some time ago was when we LOVE and HELP like the passage above describes, it is an act of WORSHIP.

When we LOVE. That is WORSHIP.
When we share a meal. That is WORSHIP.
When we provide a bed. That is WORSHIP.
When we offer words of encouragement. That is WORSHIP.

When we do things like this, GOD’s PRESENCE is revealed and GOD gets glory!  And that should be our goal and target for each day we wander this planet; to GIVE GOD GLORY through our WORDS AND ACTIONS.
1 Corinthians 10:31
…if you do anything do it for the glory of God.

Yesterday between the SHELTER, the JEREMIAH TREE, my awesome VOLUNTEERS who offered a lasagna lunch, to the warm coffee in the pot, to the time of counsel with an alcoholic and her concerned mom, to counseling and praying with a man struggling in sexual sin, to providing a brother needing an address to deliver a bed to a family sleeping on their floor, to spending time with an awesome team helping to build a recovery clubhouse, I was in the midst of worship yesterday; in the midst of GOD being glorified!

Those kinds of days are “awesome”.

Those kinds of days that are wrapped in "giving and not getting" in sharing and not selfishness bring energy, hope, and light!
They bless me!
Luke 6:38
"Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.”

And I believe days like that bless GOD!

That is why I want to encourage you today.

Look around you.  See anyone that could use an uplifting word?  Got a co-worker you could take to lunch?  Maybe a mid-afternoon coffee run for the team would provide a pick-me-up. Have a blanket or two that could be donated?

Can you share some love? Some generosity?
Trust me! When GOD’s GLORY shows up as a RESULT…

...YOU WILL BE BLESSED!

Love you all…
Have a “giving not getting” weekend!
