FULLNESS OF LOVE

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Can we begin today like Paul?

To…

…get down on OUR knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. Ask(ing) him to strengthen us by his Spirit—not (with) a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in (us) as (we) open the door and invite him in. And ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, (we’ll) be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love.

Reach out and experience the breadth!

Test its length!

Plumb the depths!

Rise to the heights!

Live full lives, full in the fullness of God(?)

God can do anything, you know—far more than (we) could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!

He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. (Ephesians 3:14-21MSG)

Psalm 118 describes this love as STEADFAST LOVE, STEADFAST LOVE that endures forever!

Maybe you are feeling a little “unloved” at the moment?  Hurt? Confused?

Are you a little spiritually dry? 

I ask you have you PLUMBED the saturated depths of GOD’S love?

Or have you forgotten or neglected to remind yourself of the quality of God’s love?

STEADFAST is what it is and that is QUALITY LOVE!

For STEADFAST means “resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.

Loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, true, constant…”

Love that we can plant our feet solidly on!

Love that PERMEATES and fills us when we open up to it.

Yesterday in our staff discussions my colleague Pastor Tom shared this prayer from Paul to remind us that GOD’S love is such that it supersedes our fears and limitations, that GOD’S love frees us from the pressures of comparisons and misdirected expectations, that GOD’S love is an open invitation to BE what GOD desires us to BE; His sons and daughters.

Sometimes we need that reminding. 

I know I do.  

So can I encourage us both to RECEIVE the LOVE GOD has for us today?

Don’t block it with fear or misappropriated pressures.  

Keep any bitterness or frustrations in their place.  

Instead reach out and experience the FULLNESS of GOD'S love!

Test its length!

Plumb the depths!

Rise to the heights!

Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

For when God made you, He designed you to run at optimal level when you are filled with His love, like a car that runs at its best when it is filled with the right kind of petrol or gasoline.  When you realize how much God loves you and you feed on His love for you, you will be supernaturally filled with the fullness of God. And to be full of God is to be full of everything God is to you and has for you.
