TRUSTED ADVICE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Proverbs 12:15 (TLB)
A fool thinks he needs no advice, but a wise man listens to others.

Arrogance and ignorance are dangerous “ances” for sure.

When we believe we have it all together, we usually don’t.  And worse yet is when we allow ourselves to become oblivious to what is going on around us and in us.
Neither lead to much growth and often keep us stagnated and at risk!

For the longest time I thought I had my addiction under control.  People would try to offer help and counsel but like the fool I felt like I needed no advice, no help.

I didn’t listen to others.  And the louder they got the more tone-deaf I became.  I stagnated and most certainly put everything in my life at risk.  Thank GOD He finally brought me to my senses and to some folks who I DID listen to.

But the truth of the matter is that we do NEED other.
We all need “GOOD” counsel from time to time from trusted sources, from friends.
Proverbs 27:17(ERV)
As one piece of iron sharpens another, so friends keep each other sharp.

Often that takes humility and vulnerability on our part.  It takes a willingness to put down the front and take stock rather than ignore, to let GOD use the others around us to sharpen us when we have become prideful or dull.

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” ― Mother Teresa

Are you going through some challenges that perhaps a helpful ear could assist?

Don’t be prideful or arrogant.
Find that trusted friend, one who is a good listener as well as good adviser.  Don’t settle for feigned ignorance.  GOD wants us to be in a constant state of “improvement” and as the Proverb eludes, that comes through interactions with one another.

For:
“When the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective.” ― Stephen R. Covey

And remember, vulnerability is NOT weakness.  When we are willing to be humble, to admit our challenges, healing begins.
James 5:16 (ICB)
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. Do this so that God can heal you.
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.” ― BrenĂ© Brown…

So if you are in need today of some help...
Guard against arrogance.
Don’t claim ignorance.
Find that friend.
Trust.
Share.
Listen.
Heed.

And heal.

Have a blessed day!
I love you ALL!
