H.O.P.E. - 1.18.2016

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“Having Optimism Past Everything” was what he said; he being Pastor Tom. H.O.P.E.
Another said even though at times “it” is uncomfortable it is still awesome. He was referring to his journey inside the Refuge. He was choosing to HAVE OPTIMISM past everything, even the “uncomfortable”.
That is HOPE!
These were just a couple of the thoughts shared at yesterday’s REFUGE encounter. 90+ men, family members, Pastors, and some volunteers, wedged into an ever tightening worship space sharing HOPE!
Optimism IS at the core of and paramount to a hopeful perspective and GOD has granted all of us undeniable reasons for hope; optimism in the face of “anything” and everything.
Proverbs 23:18 (ESV)
Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Psalm 62:5 (ESV)
For God alone…my hope is from him.
Psalm 39:7 (ESV)
O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
So ask yourself today. How is your HOPE?
Do you have an optimistic perspective about today, about life?
Maybe I can help with a little gleaned and massaged from Mezzapella’s book Contagious Optimism.
Hopeful and optimistic folks:
1. …express gratitude.
Being appreciative of big blessings isn’t enough; Mezzapelle says optimists are grateful for the smallest things in life.
2. …seek to serve.
3. …love others.
4. …gravitate toward and attract others who are hopeful and optimistic!
5. …diffuse negativity. Instead they fix their…
minds (to) thinking about whatever is true, whatever is respected, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever can be loved, and whatever is well thought of. If there is anything good and worth giving thanks for, think about these things.
– Philippians 4:8 (NLV)
6. …extend grace.
7. …exude HOPE…
Nelson Mandela once remarked…
“I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.” ― Nelson Mandela
So your assignment is clear today.
Embrace this day with HOPE.
Set your face toward the sun and THE SON!
Keep your feet moving forward.
Have OPTIMISM past EVERYTHING.
Exercise those seven suggestions.
And just for good measure, here is a little boost to get you on your way…
May the God of HOPE fill you with joy and peace in your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit, your whole life and outlook may be radiant with HOPE. - Romans 15:13 (PH)

I love you all.
Have a HOPE-FILLED day!
