ENCOURAGE & LOVE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love – Colossians 2:2 (TLB)

Yesterday Pastor Josh was pinch hitting for our Senior Pastor Mark and shared from Colossians 2.  And I thought it a wonderful little nugget to launch into a new week!

I just pulled a portion of his sermon text for us today but boy do those 10 little words say so much, give us so much practical and POSITIVE instruction!

BE ENCOURAGED!
Paul was asking the Colossian folks to ENCOURAGE one another.  I do think that is something that is truly lacking today.  Instead of building one another up we often seek ways to build ourselves up by tearing others down.  Don’t fall into that trap today.  Encourage those around you.  Pray for THEIR dreams and aspirations.  Pour energy into them with uplifting words.
encourage the hearts of your fellow believers and support one another – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (TPT)

Roy Bennett “encouraged us” to…
“Be an Encourager: When you encourage others, you boost their self-esteem, enhance their self-confidence, make them work harder, lift their spirits and make them successful in their endeavors. Encouragement goes straight to the heart and is always available. Be an encourager. Always.”

The other simple instruction from Colossians 2:2, LOVE EACH OTHER!

Encouragement WILL FLOW from love for one another.  When we are selfless with our love for one another we almost can’t help but become cheerleaders for one another.
And the BIBLE is very clear about the power of our love for each other.
It is how people will know we are Christians.
It honors GOD.
AND…
We are truly imitators of JESUS when we LOVE.
For HIS LOVE for us had no parallel (Romans 5:8/John 3:16)
So, let’s love!
Love each other in a way that makes you feel close like brothers and sisters.
And give each other more honor than you give yourself.
Romans 12:10 (ERV)

Joan Cox remarked, “To love one another means to have compassionate concern and care for all people. It is to know the value of living a good life, and of adding value to others life. It produces a meaningful life!”

TRUE!

I guess that sums it up today my friends.
Let’s encourage each other.
Let’s love one another.

Simple suggestions but oh so powerful in their impact!  I mean,
Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement he has brought us, the comfort of his love, our sharing in his Spirit, and the mercy and kindness he has shown us. If you enjoy these blessings, 2 then do what will make my joy complete: Agree with each other, and show your love for each other. – Philippians 2:2 (ERV)

Love ya all!
Have a blessed DAY!
