JOY-FILLED

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

My son Ian and I are trying to be a little more intentional about spending time “learning” together.  So, we are trying our best to carve out Wednesday’s to share in a teaching.  It won’t be easy with all the travel, the school, and the other things, but we are praying for intentionality and persistence ðŸ˜Š.

And Ian purchased for his momma this Christmas, David Jeremiah’s book “A Life Beyond Amazing”.  So, I thought he and I too could lean into the book via the talks that accompany the book.  So yesterday we explored the chapter on JOY.

In a nutshell, an AMAZING Life is a JOY-FILLED life.

Jeremiah remarked that if you wish to understand joy go to the WORD of GOD.  He remarked that there are over 500 references to joy in scripture in all sorts of contexts.

Joy in the heart!
Joy in the challenge!
Joy in obedience!
Joy as a mandate.
And that Jesus was JOY-FILLED, and He desires us to EXPERIENCE it too!
you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! – John 15:11 (NLT)

How is your JOY QUOTIENT?
Charles Stanley once remarked that “Happiness is circumstantial while JOY is something SUPERNATURAL”
True.
I say it often when I am spending time with folks, joy comes from the LORD and as a result, IS impervious to CIRCUMSTANCE.

One thing that I have learned in my journey is that JOY cannot be found in STUFF or SUBSTANCES.  I tried both.
I had LOTS and LOTS of STUFF and experienced the fraudulent euphoria of my share of substances and with both joy remained elusive.

Not surprising.

In fact, Jeremiah quoted a study that aside from France the United State leads the WORLD in depression and anxiety disorder again validating that TRUE JOY is not tied to circumstances or found in STUFF.
Instead…
A joyful heart is good medicine – Proverbs 17:22 (ESV)

So, let me ask you a simple question this morning.  Are you JOY-FILLED?
Friends JOY is sustainable!
Joy transcends circumstances!
Joy is strength!

And if you want it Moody said that, “The Lord gives his people perpetual joy when they walk in obedience to him.”

So, there you go!

Want to escape the trap of melancholy, depression, and anxiety? Want to tap into an endless resource that flows from GOD Himself that is impervious to circumstances?

Then:
Let’s WALK in obedience with HIM today for it is there we find:
joy that overflows…– Galatians 5:23 (TPT)

Love ya all!
Have a blessed DAY!
OPPORTUNITIES for HOPE
