DISTRESSERS AND DEPRESSERS

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. If you look at God you'll be at rest.”
 Corrie ten Boom

What has your attention today?
The worldly circumstances that are beyond your control? Ebola? Conflicts abroad?
Maybe it is an inner struggle that has you discouraged or troubled.

Well as Corrie points out, external challenges can cause much distress while inner ones can bring fatigue and even make one depressed.  Maybe this morning you would be better suited to look to GOD and find rest for that agitated or fatigued soul.
Jeremiah 31:25 (V)
I will satisfy those who are weary, and I will refresh every soul in the grips of sorrow.

And I am not talking about GOD granting a nap. For while physical rest is good for days or times like those, GOD is instead encouraging us to find peace, comfort, direction, a lesser burden and refreshment by offering those “distressers and depressers” to Him!

God’s rest comes when we “relinquish” those circumstances and messes in the mirror to His all seeing all knowing hand. For when we do those struggles suddenly are brought into context against the enormity of His power to overcome them  It is in HIS hand that those inner demons have to flee in the face of His perfect love!
So look to Him first today and release them to Him!
1 Peter 5:7 (V)
Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries.
No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us.”― Dieter F. Uchtdorf

It is  there you will find rest. There you will find rejuvenation.

The message today though short and simple is crucial.
Fix your eyes on Jesus first thing today.  The DISTRESS will diminish, the depression will lift and you will find REST for your soul.
Exodus 33:14(NIRV)
The Lord replied, “I will go with you. And I will give you rest.”

And maybe later GOD will even arrange that nap!

Have a blessed day!
I love you all
