ROCK WON'T MOVE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“If you feel far from God right now, guess who moved? You’re only a decision away from reconnecting.” ― Anne Graham Lotz

Yesterday in our service Darris and his praise and worship team shared a song that was new to the congregation but perhaps one you know. It has a chorus lyric that says…
“The rock won’t move and His word is strong, the Rock won’t move and His love can’t be undone.”

Clearly the ROCK is Jesus.

But the little nugget I would like you to take away today is that this ROCK, this JESUS does NOT move.  As the quote from Amy eludes, if you are feeling distant from GOD today as you read this, if you feel “far away” from the presence of GOD, then guess who moved?

You. The ROCK won’t.

We are all susceptible to asking “where are you GOD” from time to time.  Psalmists did.  Even the apostles had their moments where they felt that GOD had gone missing.  But that lyric is right. Our ROCK does not move. And our ROCK’s word can be completely trusted for those times in our lives when “we come undone”.
Colossians 1:17(NLT)
17 He (CHRIST) existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.
That includes you.

And Amy’s little quote reminds us that when we are feeling distant and detached from our ROCK, reconnecting takes merely a simple decision to do so.
Psalm 50:15(ERV)
God says, Call me when trouble comes. I will help you, and you will honor me.

In our walk with GOD we must remember we are the ones guilty of the drifting and disconnecting.  GOD’s WORD is solid and sure.  And GOD’s Word is what we should immediately reconnect with when we are feeling separated from GOD.  It is there we find the truth.

Truth like…
Hebrews 13:8(ERV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Romans 8:39 (ERV)
...nothing in the whole created world—will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2 Timothy 2:13 (V)
If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, For He is not able to deny Himself.

I am sure you get the point.
So today while everything else around you might be like “shifting sand”, remember Christ, you’re ROCK won’t move.  Not today. Not ever.

Be blessed today!
I love you all!
